2019 PROMOTIONAL VIDEO - "Between Two Fires" |
Meet DemiAura, the bleeding edge of progressive metal. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, DemiAura draws its influences from rogues and giants of the genre like Rush, Fates Warning, Tesseract, Periphery, Liquid Tension, Opeth, Cynic and many others, yet remains utterly unique in its execution. DemiAura’s music is forged organically through inspired improvisation, refined into complex, atmospheric metal, uniquely seasoned with layers of cinematic depth, then ultimately delivered with a fiery technical precision.
Founded originally in the late 90’s, DemiAura is the latest incarnation of the ongoing progressive rock fusion project first conceptualized by drummer Keith Heaney. DemiAura’s fusion of many different stylistic directions and the band’s wild, unbound method of technical expression results in a dynamic sound that is often referred to as Progressive Metal Soundscapes. DemiAura’s music is fearlessly textured with influences from an endless bevy of styles. From progressive metal to jazz fusion and even film soundtracks, nothing is off the table from where DemiAura draws its inspiration. The band is appropriately comprised of a team of veteran musicians from wildly different backgrounds. Unafraid to deliver an unconventional presentation, DemiAura forgoes a bass guitar, instead utilizing the unique keyboard and programming skills of Jonathan Gabriel, Jr. to complete the spectrum. Along with veteran guitarist Bobby Chavez and drummer/percussionist Keith Heaney, DemiAura had sought a vocalist for years without a proper fit, then auditioned and welcomed vocalist Chelsea Wrathchild in 2017, in a unique origin story of fate meeting opportunity. In 2018, DemiAura recorded a multi-song demo and filmed a music video in a variety of Arizona landmark locations. DemiAura continues to perform throughout the Southwest US and beyond. As the progressive work slowly unwinds as you listen to it multiple times, the tracks become more than “just” a track. This is progressive, instrumental music of a very promising quality. I’m looking forward to a very bright DemiAura future.

Great mix of heaviness, prog fusion and crazy rhythms. Strong focus on keyboards too which makes for some great textures. Solid stuff for fans of dynamic instrumental progressive music.

The hard driving “Pleiadian” features some of the albums most blistering riffs.... And that’s kind of the story as you make your way through the album; the arrangements and musical passages are all expertly played and executed....
